FTIR - ATR

July 2014

No longer do scientists spent hours creating KBr disks for FTIR analysis only to carefully remove the disk from the press and have it crumble between their fingers.

Chemical Analysis is pleased to announce the arrival of an Agilent Cary 630 FTIR Spectrometer. The unique feature of this instrument - apart from its amazingly small footprint - is the ATR (Attenuated Total Reflectance) accessory.

Rather than the light passing through the KBr disk, it is bounced off the sample via the diamond ATR cell, allowing more consistent FTIR analysis and faster sample turn-around
